Its Friday, so that means its time for another round of oddities! This week, I decided to comb through a local grocery store, and see how many products that I recognized as being offered in the exact same form back home in the United States. The list was short, but interesting nonetheless.
Jump in!
In the off chance that you felt you needed somewhere between
fifty to one hundred boxes of weird, internationally flavored Pringles. |
Don't worry, the cannibalistic cereal pieces are still on the box. |
Something's not quite right about that bee... |
I actually kinda like the German name for these better! |
It may be sideways, but I still think Wendy's
will throw a fit if they ever make it over here. |
The bars are smaller. Not by much, but just enough to
make buying one that much more of an internal debate. |
Look at that gum though. |
Arizona Iced Tea. Even over here, the weird flowery
bottles are invading! |
"Diet Coke" is "Coca Cola Light" here.
I know, just let it sink in. |
Absolutely no love for Pepsi. Something about this just
feels right though. |
Why specifically is Uncle Ben's so popular here?
Its in every grocery store. |
Is it bizarre that the completely non-Mexican Mexican food
is the thing that reminds me most of home? |
I don't think the Germans have a brand of actual cream cheese.
First person to find one gets an ice-cream cone.
You're buying! |
For your Amusement:
This is a sugar cone. This is how the Puritans would have
bought sugar. Think about that. |
This is "Leipziger Gose," a local type of beer.
Its sweet, but in a very, very weird way. |
Oh hey, its Red Bull! |
Wait a minute.... |
I think you have enough, people! |
Seriously though, sleep is a good alternative sometimes!! |
Proverb of the Day:
Falafel is a breakfast food.
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
